COORDINATE
SYSTEM FOR MAPPING PROGRAM
IECWMA –
CIPM mapping component can accept GPS data only in the NAD 1983
UTM (Zone 11N) format. However, if field GPS data are
collected in other formats (for example Latitude and Longitude
in degrees, minutes and seconds, in decimal degrees or in
decimal minutes) there are two coordinate converters available
linked to the map page. The two converters are "Chuck
Taylor"
which can convert only decimal degrees (example latitude -
37.379, longitude - 112.061) to UTMs, and
“Jeeep.com”
which can convert decimal degrees, minute degrees (example
latitude - 37º22.74, longitude - 122º3.66) or degrees, minutes,
seconds (example latitude - 37º45’32’’ North, longitude -
112º29’15’’ West) to UTMs.
